Norges Bank introduced its own pages on Internet (http://www.norges-bank.no) on Friday, 20 December. In addition to general information about Norges Bank, the central bank's pages will cover five main areas: inflation reports, market information, statistics, publications and speeches. The information will be available in both Norwegian and English.

Poul Henrik Poulsson, Information Director in Norges Bank, says that the Internet pages should represent a useful supplement to the central bank's various publications and other information activities.

"The school system will now have easier access to economic and statistical information prepared by Norges Bank. Moreover, the central bank will now, through Internet, be able to provide market information to a greater number of financial institutions than earlier," declares Poul Henrik Poulsson.
