New monetary policy report data sets and structure
From MPR 1/25 and onwards Norges Bank will publish a new standardised data set together with the Monetary Policy Report (MPR). The new data set will have the same structure and content in every MPR and include projections of key economic variables. Most of the data series will start with 2015 Q1. In addition to the standardised data set, underlying chart data from MPR boxes will be published separately. These two data sets will replace the current solution from MPR 1/2025 onwards. The new format aims to enhance transparency and improve user friendliness. A version of the standardised data set, including data and projections from MPR 4/2024, has been prepared as an aid. Note that this solution may be subject to change.
From MPR 1/2025, section structure will also be changed. The policy rate forecast will be published in the data set and presented in a chart in “The Committee’s Assessment” at the beginning of each MPR.
Norges Bank will continue to summarise the main monetary policy message in a press release. The section “Monetary Policy Assessment” will be replaced by “The Commitee’s Assessment”.
