Therese Steen to be the new Executive Director of Norges Bank Administration (NBA)
Therese Steen is currently the Director General of the Department of Administrative and Constitutional Affairs in the Office of the Prime Minister.
“I am very pleased to have Therese on our team. She has considerable expertise in NBA’s areas of responsibility and is an experienced and straightforward leader”, says Governor Ida Wolden Bache.
Previously, Steen has worked for the Office of the Attorney General, in the Department of Domestic Affairs in the Office of the Prime Minister and as a judge on the Borgarting Court of Appeal. She trained as lawyer at the University of Oslo and has a Master’s degree in Public International Law from the London School of Economics.
She will assume her post at Norges Bank in mid-August 2024. Alexander Behringer, who has been the Acting Executive Director of NBA since November 2022, will continue in this position until Steen takes up her post.
“I am very happy to have been appointed Executive Director of Norges Bank Administration. Norges Bank is an important institution, and I look forward to leading and developing further a large and highly skilled organisation that is intended to support both the central bank and NBIM”, says Therese Steen.
